Customers and keys
A customer changed computer and their key stopped working. What do I do?
A key is bound to the first computer that signs in with it. Open the key in Users and reset its hardware; it binds to the next computer. Accounts work the same way. Step by step.
When does a license start counting down?
At its first sign-in, not when you generate it. A key you sell next week keeps its full length until it is used. Accounts follow the same rule: their time starts at the first sign-in, and a lifetime account never expires.
I paused a license. Does its time stop?
No. Pausing blocks sign-in but the end date stays where it was, so paused days are used up. To give time back, add it afterwards.
I banned a license. Why were other keys refused?
Banning a license also bans its computer and its last IP address. Another key from that computer or network matches the ban. Lift the ban to let them in, or ban only the part you mean from Bans.
Someone is sharing a key. How do I stop it?
Open Monitor to see who is online on the key now, end the sessions, and ban the key, the computer or the address. Lower the concurrent-session limit so a shared key cannot be used twice at once.
Can I give a customer extra features or credits?
Yes, with entitlements: named features or counted credits attached to one license or account, with their own end date. The program reads them with the Entitlements calls.
My program
I rebuilt my program and now every sign-in is refused.
A new build has a new hash and only authorized builds can sign in. Press Authorize this build on the refused row in Logs, or drop the new executable under Builds. Build authorization.
How do I ship an update without a reinstall?
Upload the new build under Builds, publish it as the latest version and choose how many users get it. Older builds update themselves on their next start. Updates.
My program does not sign in at all.
Check that the API key in the program is the one shown for this application, that the program is built with the SDK, and that the first request shows up in Logs. Why a sign-in was refused covers every message.
Where do I download the SDK?
The SDKs for C++, JavaScript and Python are public on GitHub, and the dashboard links them at the top of SDK and key and on Help. Setup is in Install and first sign-in.
Selling
Can my store hand out keys by itself?
Yes. Stores and the API lists ready addresses for the common stores and chargeback handling, and most need no code.
Can other people sell my keys?
Invite them as resellers and give each a balance, so every key they create spends stock you control. Resellers and balance.

How do I get a copy of my data or delete my account?

How long does the Obfuscator keep my files?
