The Users page

Every customer of an application is a license or an account. This page lists them, filters them and acts on one or thousands at a time.

Open it now:Users

License users and Account users

The page has two tabs, and both work the same way.

TabA customer signs in withRead more
License usersOne license key.Generate licenses, Manage a license
Account usersA username and password, with optional email verification.Generate accounts, Manage an account

Which one you use depends on what your program calls: License::Login or Account::Login. You can use both in one application. Licenses and accounts explains the difference.

Status of a license

The bar at the top of the License tab splits the application's licenses by state. Click a segment to filter the table to it; click again to clear. Each license is in exactly one state, checked in this order:

StateMeans
BannedThe license key has a ban.
PausedPaused by you or a reseller. Sign-ins are refused and its time is frozen.
ExpiredIts end date has passed.
UnusedNever signed in: no hardware ID and no IP address recorded yet. Its validity period has not started.
ActiveEverything else.

In the table, the expiry of an unused license reads Unused (30D): the number is the validity it will get at its first sign-in. A license ending within 7 days is shown in red and within 30 days in amber; hover an expiry for a live countdown.

Search, sort and filter

  • Search matches the key, note, hardware ID, IP address, location and device, and for accounts also the username and email. Press / to focus it.
  • Sort by created, expiry, last login, level, key, hardware ID, IP, location, device or note, ascending or descending.
  • Filter by status, whether a hardware ID is bound, whether there is a note, used or unused, and level. Filters combine.
  • Views save a filter and sort under a name. Four are built in: Expiring ≤ 7d, Unused, Active & bound and Banned. Saved views are per application and per tab.
  • Columns shows or hides columns and switches between comfortable and compact rows. Both are remembered. The page size is 10, 20, 50 or 100 rows.

Opening the Users page from a log row, a ban or the search pop-up arrives already filtered to that key, address or hardware ID.

Select many and act in bulk

Tick rows, or tick the box in the header. When every row on the page is ticked a bar offers Select all N matching, which selects across every page of the current filter. Selection follows the filter: rows that no longer match are dropped from it, so a bulk action never touches rows you cannot see.

The toolbar then shows what you may do with the selection:

MenuActions
ActionsPause, Resume, Edit note, Change level, Set expiry, Adjust time, Give entitlement, Ban, Cascade ban.
ResetReset everything, Reset hardware only, Reset network only.
DeleteDelete selected, or Delete all expired, all unused, all used.

Large batches run in chunks of 200 with a progress bar and the time remaining. Every action is checked against your permission, so a reseller sees only what they were allowed.

Edit in the table

Press e on a focused row, or choose Edit inline, and the note, level and expiry become editable in the row. For accounts, so are the username, the password and the email. Changes are staged: a Save button counts them, and Ctrl Enter saves them all. Reloading the page with unsaved edits asks first.

Export

Export copies the filtered rows to the clipboard. Choose the columns (key, note, level, expiry, hardware ID, IP, location, last login, device) and the separator: comma, new line, semicolon, tab or pipe.
