What a session is

A session starts when a customer signs in and ends when the program signs out, closes, loses its connection, is ended by you or reaches the session timeout. While it lasts, the program keeps Atlas informed by a regular check-in, so this list is live: it refreshes by itself and shows new sessions as they arrive. Sessions and live control explains how sessions work from the program's side.

The list

Each row is one live session: the license key or username (with a mark when the account's email is verified), the IP address and location, the device, and how long ago it started. Search matches the user, the license and the session ID; sort by most recent or oldest. Click a row for the details panel, with the session, its recent log entries and links to the same license in Users, Logs and Bans.

Message a session

The message button on a row (or Message all at the top) opens a box for up to 256 characters. The program shows the text in a Windows message box at its next check-in, a few seconds later. Use it for a maintenance warning, a thank-you or a request to update.

End a session

ActionWhat happens
KillThe session ends at once and the program closes at its next check-in. Nobody is banned: the customer can sign in again with a valid key.
Kill and ban licenseEnds the session and bans the license, its hardware and its address in one step. See Bans.
Terminate allEnds every session of the application after a confirmation. It is also in the Applications actions menu as Terminate Sessions.

A killed session leaves a DISCONNECT entry in the logs saying an admin ended it. Ending a session does not stop a new one: to keep someone out, ban them, pause their key, or disable the application.

Permissions

Seeing sessions, ending them and messaging them are three separate permissions, so a support teammate can be allowed to message without being able to kill.
